Club Magazine "The Spitfire"
Every member of the T.S.C. receives the bimonthly club magazine: The Spitfire.
Each edition of The Spitfire is full of technical information, entertaining stories, pieces of information and of course an overview of forthcoming activities and events. In addition, there are advertisements by the most important professional suppliers of Triumph cars and parts. All this makes The Spitfire an important source of information for (prospective) owners of Spitfires or GT6s.
Club Articles
From key rings to body-warmers and from ballpoints to scale models; you name it, the T.S.C. club stand has it on sale. New articles are added regularly to the collection, including technical items used for car maintenance.
Advantageous Insurance Policies
Arranging insurance for a classic car is not always that straightforward. Certainly those owners who use their cars a lot need to make sure that their insurance fulfils all the necessary conditions. There is an enormous range of third-party, fire, theft and damage and fully comprehensive insurance policies available. Details of various, specialised insurance companies and brokers can be found in The Spitfire. Membership of the T.S.C. gives you added advantages.
Technical Advice
From a technical point of view, a Spitfire or GT6 is a relatively simple machine. However, you may experience problems that require specialist help. The Technical Advice Committee consists of technical enthusiasts that know Spitfires and GT6s like the back of the hand. There are T.A.C. members throughout the whole of the Netherlands. They can be called upon if you experience problems with, or have questions concerning, purchasing, maintaining and repairing your car.
Technical Meetings
The T.A.C. organises technical meetings twice a year. Each time, the focus is on a different subject, thereby enabling you to acquire a good all-round knowledge of your car. Explanations are given in a way which everyone can understand on how you can keep your Spitfire or GT6 in tiptop condition or simply ensure that it passes its MOT.
Meetings In The Netherlands And Abroad
There is nothing to beat touring around the countryside in your open-top car in the company of other Spitfires and GT6s. Every year, T.S.C. members organise a variety of meetings. The tours take you and other enthusiasts along some of the most beautiful parts of the region in question. You don't drive 'on your own' though. Our meetings are packed with activities and surprises. Walking across the mudflats, visiting the Deltawerken [Delta works dam system], punting in Giethoorn, a trip down the coal mines in Limburg, treasure hunts, etc. In a word, our meetings are guaranteed to be thoroughly enjoyable and full of interesting activities. It is a great way to make new Spitfire and GT6 friends.
The International Spitfire Weekend
Since 1983, the T.S.C. has organised a large-scale annual meeting at which, in addition to our own club members, a lot of foreign clubs and individual Spitfire and GT6 owners take part as visitors. The International Spitfire Weekend, otherwise known as I.S.W., has grown to become a completely unique event visited by well over a thousand Spitfire and GT6 freaks. There are a great many Spitfires and GT6s to admire (and no two cars are the same...).
In addition, the weekend features a range of activities such as the meetings in the bar (the setting for many a tall story), tours, driving skills competition, a tombola, a nursery for children, a large spare parts and book market, social evenings and a number of different competitions.
The highpoint of the weekend is the tour, in which hundreds of Spitfires and GT6s take part, forming a colourful line of cars, several kilometres long. It is a unique event, the only one of its kind in the world, that even featured in the 1988 Guiness Book of Records.
Each year during the I.S.W., there is a Concours d'Elegance, during which the most beautiful Spitfires in Europe are selected from a number of categories.
The Club On The Internet
Since 1996, the T.S.C. has had its own Home Page on the Internet. This website is frequently visited by national and international Spitfire and GT6 enthusiasts. Each day, there are more than 50 enthusiastic visitors to the pages that feature a large number of photos. The website is regarded as one of the best Spitfire and GT6 websites there are. It is partly thanks to this website that the T.S.C. has a reputation throughout the world for being one of the larger and more active Triumph Clubs.
